Casino Games: Explore the Best Online Casino Games

Casino games divide into two questions that decide what they cost you: what share of every stake the game returns, and whether the outcome comes from software or from a dealer you can watch. This hub explains both, game by game, and adds something the international guides to this subject do not have — measurements of what each catalogue actually serves in this region. On one platform we queried, the same casino returns 8,450 games to a connection in Oman and 7,590 to one in the Emirates; on another, 23 studios out of 86 block the Emirates by name. Nobody publishes that, and it is most of the gap between the game count a casino advertises and what will actually open for you.

Best Online Casino Games

Every guide to casino games opens with the same list of names. This one opens with the two numbers that decide what a game costs you: the share of every stake it returns, and whether the outcome is decided by software or by a dealer you can watch. Themes, jackpots and bonus rounds are decoration on top of those two.

The return figures below are the published ranges from the studios that make the games, not our estimates. They are ranges because the same title ships with different settings depending on which operator licenses it — a point almost every guide skips, and one we come back to.

GameTypeHow it worksLive or RNGTypical returnWhat defines it

What that return column does not tell you:

A return figure is a long-run average over millions of rounds, not a promise about your session, and it is set by the operator from a range the studio provides. The same slot can run at 96.5% at one casino and 94% at another, and almost no operator publishes which build it is running. Where the figure appears inside the game — open the paytable before you spin — that is the number that applies to you. Where it does not, treat the published range as the widest it could be.

Casino Games by Category

Eight categories cover essentially everything an online casino offers. Each gets a short explanation here and a dedicated guide of its own; this page is the map, not the territory.

Slots

Online slot games

The largest section at every casino and the most variable in what it returns. A classic slot pays on fixed lines; a ways slot pays for symbols on adjacent reels in any position; a cluster game pays for groups of touching symbols. What separates two slots at the same return is volatility — how that return is distributed. Full guide to online slots.

Roulette

One wheel, two very different games. The single-zero (European) wheel returns 97.3%; the double-zero (American) wheel returns 94.7%, because the extra pocket does not change the payouts. Playing the American wheel costs you roughly twice as much per spin, for an identical experience. Full guide to online roulette.

Blackjack

Classic table games

The lowest house edge on the floor, and the only mainstream game where what you do changes the arithmetic. The return depends on the rules of the specific table — how many decks, whether the dealer stands on soft 17, whether you can double after splitting — more than on which casino you are at. Full guide to online blackjack.

Baccarat

The simplest table game: bet on banker, player or tie, and nothing you do afterwards changes the outcome. Banker returns about 98.9% and player 98.8%, but the tie bet returns roughly 85.6% — the largest single trap in the game. Full guide to online baccarat.

Poker

Poker tables

Two different products under one name. Video poker is you against a paytable, and the paytable sets the return — a full-pay machine and a short-pay one look identical and differ by several per cent. Poker rooms are you against other players, where the operator takes rake instead of an edge, and where liquidity matters more than anything else. Full guide to online poker.

Live Casino

A real table, a real dealer and a camera. The cards and the wheel are physical, so no random number generator is involved — which is the appeal for players who distrust software they cannot see. Higher minimums, the dealer’s pace, and the one part of a casino where the dealer’s language matters. Full guide to live casino.

Crash Games

Crash games

A multiplier climbs from 1x and collapses at an unpredictable point; you take the multiplier standing when you cash out, or you get nothing. Simple, fast, and the format most likely to pull someone into chasing a loss — set the limit before you start, not after. Full guide to crash games.

Plinko

A ball drops through a field of pegs into a payout slot at the bottom. You choose the risk level and the number of rows, and those two settings change the shape of the returns completely: low risk pays often and small, high risk almost never and large. Full guide to Plinko.

How Online Casino Games Work

Six ideas explain most of what separates one game from another. None of them is complicated, and knowing them changes which games you choose.

RTP (Return to Player)

The share of everything wagered that a game pays back over the long run. A 96% game returns 96 units for every 100 staked, averaged across millions of rounds. It is a reliable way to compare two games and a useless way to predict an evening — and, as above, the operator picks it from a range.

House Edge

The same number seen from the other side: RTP and house edge add to 100%. A 96% slot has a 4% edge; a blackjack table at 99.5% has an edge of half a per cent. When someone says a game is tight, this is the number they mean.

Volatility

How the return is distributed, not how large it is. Low volatility pays small and often; high volatility pays rarely and large. Two games with an identical RTP can empty a balance at completely different speeds, which is why volatility, not RTP, is what you actually feel. With a small bankroll, high volatility is the wrong choice regardless of the headline figure.

RNG (Random Number Generator)

The software that decides every non-live round, independent of the last. Two consequences follow, and both are routinely misunderstood: a slot is never due, and a losing streak says nothing about the next spin. Reputable generators are tested by outside laboratories, and it is the operator’s licence that obliges them to submit to it.

Betting Limits

Every game carries a minimum and a maximum, and they vary far more than players expect — live tables usually start higher than their software equivalents, and a bonus almost always caps the stake per round while wagering is outstanding. Exceeding that cap is one of the most common reasons a bonus is voided.

Progressive Jackpots

A slice of every stake feeds a shared prize pool. That slice sits inside the advertised RTP, which means the base game returns less than the number suggests to everyone who does not win the jackpot — which is essentially everyone. A progressive is a lottery attached to a slot, and it is worth reading as one.

Live Casino Games

Live dealer casino tables

Live games are filmed in studios and streamed in real time, with your bets placed through an overlay on the video. Five formats cover almost all of it.

  • Live blackjack — the same decisions as the software version, at the dealer’s pace and usually at a higher minimum
  • Live roulette — a physical wheel; check whether it has one zero or two before you sit down, because both exist in live studios
  • Live baccarat — the most popular live game in Asia, and the one with the least to decide once the bet is placed
  • Live poker — casino hold’em and similar formats against the house, not the multi-table rooms
  • Game shows — wheel formats with multipliers, hosted like television; the headline return is an average, and the high-multiplier bets return materially less than the flat ones

One thing that matters here and nowhere else: the dealer speaks. Of the operators we have reviewed, a handful run tables with Arabic-speaking dealers and the rest give you an Arabic interface with an English-speaking dealer. Full guide to live casino games.

Casino Software Providers

Operators rarely build their own games; they license them. Which studios a casino carries tells you about quality — and, more usefully, about whether a game is available to you at all, because blocking in this industry often happens at the studio level rather than the casino level.

ProviderMain gamesKnown for
EvolutionLive dealer, game showsThe global reference in live casino; its presence is the sharpest signal that a live section is serious
Pragmatic PlaySlots, live casinoThe widest distribution in this region — and the studio most often blocked by country
Play’n GOSlotsHigh-volatility Scandinavian titles that publish return figures inside the games themselves
NetEntSlotsThe classics most players recognise by name; absent from several catalogues in this market
SpribeCrash gamesAviator, the title that created the category, with a provably fair seed per round
The number missing from every advertised game count:

On one operator we measured, 23 studios out of 86 block the Emirates by name — which is most of the gap between the game count a casino advertises and the number that will open for you. It runs both ways: on the same platform, a visitor from Oman is served 8,450 games from 65 studios where a visitor from the Emirates gets 7,590 from 61. Pragmatic Play alone returns 620 slots and 412 live tables to one and zero to the other. Nobody publishes this, which is why we measure catalogues per country instead of repeating the marketing.

Casino Games for UAE Players

Four things change when the question is asked from the Emirates, and none of them appear in the international guides to this subject.

Which games you can actually open

Slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and live casino are all available from here, but the catalogue is smaller than advertised and nothing tells you so — the blocked titles simply are not in the lobby. Every count in the note above applies. We publish measured counts per country in each country guide rather than repeating what the operator claims.

Mobile, Arabic and the currency

Nearly everything runs in a mobile browser without an app. Arabic comes in three grades that are easy to confuse: none at all; an interface in Arabic with the contract still in English; and terms genuinely published in Arabic. And almost no operator holds a balance in dirhams, which means a conversion on the way in and another on the way out — a cost taken twice, for the life of the account, that outweighs a welcome bonus taken once.

Licensed in the UAE, or licensed somewhere else

This distinction matters more than any other on this page, and it is the one most sites blur. The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) was created in 2023 and does issue real licences in the Emirates. A site accepting players from the UAE is not the same thing as a site licensed in the UAE. Almost every operator you will find online holds an offshore licence — Curaçao or Anjouan — which gives you a regulator to complain to, but not a UAE one, and no protection under UAE law. Any site describing itself as “UAE licensed” without a GCGRA licence number you can check is making a claim that does not stand up.

The full picture for this market is in our UAE casino guide. We also cover Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Morocco separately, because the legal position and the available catalogue genuinely differ between them.

How We Evaluate Casino Games

We are an affiliate site and earn commission from some of the operators named here. That funds the testing; it does not buy a rating. What we actually check, so you can judge the output:

  • Whether the game is really available — we query operators’ catalogue interfaces with a country code and record what comes back, with the date.
  • Who makes it. The studio behind a game decides both its quality and, frequently, whether it opens in your country at all.
  • The return, where it is verifiable — read inside the game, in the paytable. Where it is not published, we say so instead of quoting a studio-wide average as if it applied.
  • Mobile behaviour, because a table game that works on a desktop can be unusable on a phone.
  • Availability from this region, and the country restrictions written in the operator’s own terms — which we read rather than summarise from a directory.
  • Arabic and right-to-left, distinguishing an interface from a contract.
  • The catalogue as counted, not as advertised. Where the two disagree, we publish both and say which is which.

Frequently Asked Questions

Slots, by a distance — they are the largest section at every online casino and need no prior knowledge. After them come blackjack, roulette and baccarat, and more recently the crash and Plinko formats, which are the fastest-growing category in this region.

Blackjack on favourable rules, at an edge of around half a per cent. Baccarat’s banker bet follows at about 1.1%, then single-zero roulette at 2.7%. For comparison, a typical slot runs between 3% and 8%, and keno and tie bets can reach double digits.

The share of all money wagered that a game returns over the long run — 96% RTP means 4 units kept for every 100 staked, averaged over millions of rounds. It compares games reliably and predicts nothing about a single session. Note that operators select the RTP from a range the studio supplies, so the same title can differ between casinos.

How a game’s return is spread out rather than how big it is. Low volatility pays small amounts often; high volatility pays rarely and large. Two games at the same RTP can drain a balance at very different speeds, so volatility should be matched to your bankroll rather than ignored.

Almost all of them, in a browser and without installing anything. Slots translate best to a small screen; live tables and complex table games lose the most, and a few older titles remain desktop-only.

An RNG game is resolved by software; a live game is a physical table filmed in a studio with a real dealer. Live tables usually carry higher minimums and run at the dealer’s pace, and they are the only place where the dealer’s language matters.

Slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, live casino, crash games and Plinko are all reachable. The catalogue, however, is smaller than advertised: on one platform we measured, 23 studios out of 86 block the Emirates by name, and Pragmatic Play returns zero titles to an Emirati connection while serving 620 to a neighbouring country on the same site.

No — and the two are routinely confused. The GCGRA was created in 2023 and issues real Emirati licences, but nearly every site reachable online holds an offshore licence from Curaçao or Anjouan instead. That gives you a regulator to complain to, but not a UAE one. Treat any “UAE licensed” claim without a checkable GCGRA number as false.
